Our commitment

Aerovik was born from offshore sport fishing, and it depends on there still being tuna, marlin and a healthy sea twenty years from now. That is why we use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as our reference: 17 goals adopted in 2015 for 2030. We are not a certified company and we do not yet measure our footprint. What follows is what we do today and what we commit to doing, without adjectives.

SDG 14 · Life below water

Catch and release: the fish goes back with as little harm as possible.
  • We stand for responsible fishing: respecting quotas, minimum sizes and closed seasons, and practising catch and release whenever the fish will not be eaten or the rules require it.
  • We do not sell or promote prohibited gear or methods.
  • We will publish handling and release guides to return fish to the water with as little harm as possible.

SDG 12 · Responsible consumption and production

  • We design to last: lures with a stainless-steel core, a high-density polyurethane body and six coats of resin, hand-painted; carbon rods with Fuji components. Gear that lasts seasons replaces several sets that do not.
  • We also sell our lures without hooks, so you can rig your own and replace them without changing the whole lure.
  • Technical clothing made for years of sun and salt, not for one season.

SDG 13 · Climate action

  • We ship across Europe from a single warehouse in Barcelona, in one parcel per order.
  • Grouping each order into one shipment avoids unnecessary trips and packaging.

SDG 4 · Quality education

Knowing how to fish well is the best way to protect the resource.
  • We explain how to fish well: free guides on trolling and popping technique, bluefin tuna regulations and fish handling, in five languages.
  • We answer beginners' questions without selling them anything they do not need.

SDG 8 · Decent work and economic growth

  • We commit to publishing where each product family is made and to working only with manufacturers that comply with the labour laws of their country.
  • We pay our suppliers and partners on time, without abusive terms.

SDG 17 · Partnerships for the goals

  • We are looking for allies: fishing clubs, charters and conservation projects for bluefin tuna and the Strait of Gibraltar. If you work in one, write to us.
  • We will share here who we work with and what comes out of it.
